Information Collected Automatically:
- Real-time GPS location, including background location while you are online (available for ride requests) or on an active trip, even when the app is minimized or not in the foreground. This is required for matching you with nearby riders, providing riders with live driver tracking, calculating accurate trip fares, and enabling turn-by-turn navigation to pickup and dropoff locations. Background location collection stops when you go offline.
- Device type, operating system, and unique device identifiers
- Trip history, duration, distance, and route data
- App usage patterns, interactions, and preferences
- Crash reports and performance data

2. How We Use Your Information
We use your information to:
- Provide and improve ride-hailing services
- Match riders with nearby available drivers using your real-time location

- Firebase Cloud Messaging (Google): Push notification delivery
- OpenRouteService: Route calculation and navigation (receives trip coordinates only, no personal information)

4. Location Data
Why We Need Background Location:
As a driver on the Mishwar platform, background location access is essential for:
- Rider Matching: Finding and assigning nearby ride requests to you while you are online
- Live Tracking: Sharing your real-time position with riders so they can track your arrival
- Navigation: Providing turn-by-turn directions to pickup and dropoff locations
- Fare Calculation: Accurately measuring trip distance for fare computation
- Safety: Monitoring active trips for safety purposes
Your Control Over Location:
- Background location is only active while you are online (available for rides) or on an active trip
- Going offline in the app immediately stops background location collection
- You can revoke location permissions at any time through your device settings, though this will prevent you from receiving ride requests
- Location data from completed trips is retained for fare verification, dispute resolution, and safety purposes
5. Data Retention
We retain your data while your account is active. After account deletion:
- Personal profile data is deleted within 30 days
- Trip history and financial records may be retained up to 7 years for legal, tax, and fraud prevention purposes
- Anonymized usage data may be retained for analytics

We protect your data with:
- Encryption in transit (TLS/HTTPS) and at rest
- Secure authentication protocols (JWT tokens)

Account Deletion:
You can permanently delete your account at any time through the app settings. When you delete your account:
- Your personal information (name, phone, email, profile photo, vehicle details) is immediately anonymized
- Your uploaded documents (driver's license, vehicle registration, etc.) and photos are permanently deleted from our servers
- Your active session is terminated and you are logged out
- You cannot delete your account while you have an active ride in progress
- Your phone number becomes available for re-registration
- Trip history and earnings records are retained for legal compliance (tax records, fraud prevention) but all personal identifiers are removed
- The deletion is permanent and cannot be undone
8. Additional Information
Children's Privacy:
Our services are for users 18 years and older only. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 18.
International Transfers:
Your data may be processed on servers located outside Sudan. We take appropriate measures to ensure your data is protected in accordance with this policy.
Policy Updates:
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes through the app or via email. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
